UPMC Enterprises is hiring a Senior Product Analyst to join the Digital Solutions team!

Product Analysts leverage their business and IT expertise to describe functional requirements based on market research, write technical implementation requirements, and create business analytics to measure product success. Analysts use their keen, pragmatic skills to assess industries, businesses, and products. They are responsible for highlighting gaps and opportunities that support company-building and product roadmap activities from early-stage discovery through entry to market.
Product Analysts engage as a team in the innovation pipeline across healthcare verticals and throughout all stages. This includes supporting the Product Management team in developing theses for targeting problem spaces, evaluating solutions and companies for investment opportunity, and aligning internal resources to accelerate development and growth. Given the dynamic nature of the work at UPMC Enterprises, the responsibilities of the individual Product Analysts will flex across many engagements.

  • Conducts in-depth market research and analysis
  • Describes functional requirements based on market research
  • Works with users to refine requirements and validate product vision
  • Coordinates with product management, design, and engineering teams to capture requirements
  • Develops KPIs to quantify the ROI, success, and impact of products
  • Tracks metrics and progress related to product adoption and performance
  • Interfaces with stakeholders to ensure product is working as designed
  • Participates in all phases of the innovation cycle including early stage discovery through commercialization


  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field (Advanced degree, MBA, MS or PhD preferred)
  • 5+ years professional experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates fluency with agile/lean methods
  • Understanding of health care IT industry
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities
  • Shows working knowledge across multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, design, and market research but also exhibits depth in a relevant discipline
