Under the direction of engineering management and tech leadership, the UI/UX Software Engineer will contribute to the overall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and will be part of a cross-functional software development team. The focus of the position will be on UI design, UX design, and front-end development. The UI/UX Software Engineer is a natural at understanding human-computer interaction design (HCID), in coming up with elegant solutions to improve our application and overall user experience and be able to execute on those designs including development, testing and deployment of key features of the product. The candidate shows consistent attention to detail and focus on creating an experience to delight the customer.
Work within a cross-functional team to design, develop and release quality features.
Be a bridge between the overall strategy vision of the product and the development team.
Assist in conducting UX research on patterns in the market and our users’ habits.
Come up with UI and UX strategies based on project’s target goals.
Create and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups using tools like Figma, InVision, etc.
Understand the limitations of our tech stack and business model and provide technical advice wherever necessary.
-Typically has 5+ years of related work experience.
-Experience with complex development environments, taking abstract concepts and ideas and formulating a detailed software deliverable
-Experience in developing on cross-functional systems
-3+ years’ experience as a front-end developer using Angular, React, Vue or other related technologies.
-2+ years’ experience as a UI/UX designer, preference for consumer-facing products.
-High level expertise of CSS, CSS extension languages and CSS preprocessor tools
-Expert knowledge of HTML and best practices
-Experience with responsive design (mobile browsers, etc.) and designing for accessibility (A11y)
-Proficient in designing interfaces and click-through prototypes for mobile/web applications including complex UX workflows and feature suites.
-Proficient in Git version control, or other source control systems
