Job Purpose 


The Product Analyst at UPMC Enterprises leverages their business and IT expertise to collect, develop and write business, functional and nonfunctional technical requirements based on market research, user feedback and product strategy. The analyst will also assist with the implementation of business analytics to measure product success.


Analysts use their keen, pragmatic skills to assess industries, businesses, and products. They are responsible for highlighting gaps and opportunities that support company-building and product roadmap activities from early-stage discovery through entry to market.


Responsibilities 


  • Works on mid to large-sized projects with minimal oversight
  • Applies market analysis expertise to discover, identify and define product requirements
  • Works with design team to document workflow & business processes
  • Works with product management team to create prioritized list of requirements
  • Captures business requirements and translates them into functional and nonfunctional specifications for development team
  • Coordinates with design, product management, and engineering teams to write and implement requirements
  • Will research, evaluate and provide insight into trends in search optimization and analytics
  • Uses descriptive statistics to analyze data and generate useful business reports
  • Uses data to create models and use cases that depict trends in the customer base and population
  • Partners with internal teams to solve problems and identify opportunities
  • Participates in all phases of the product roadmap including early stage discovery through completion focusing specifically on development
  • Develops KPIs to quantify the ROI, success, and impact of products
  • Tracks metrics and progress related to product adoption and performance
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and meetings
  • Uses analytical methods to analyze and streamline business processes
  • Develops release notes and communicates changes to stakeholders
  • Informs, influences, and supports product decisions, development, and launch
  • Supports pilot and customer onboarding
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Performs all above in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors



Qualifications

BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience preferred MS or PhD preferred 3+ years professional experience, no management experience necessary Familiarity with business issues, or the ability to quickly learn Understanding of health care IT Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities Product management/design experience Strong verbal and written communication skills, and familiarity with PowerPoint Project management skills � ability to own and drive own work stream Ability to build and maintain relationships with and manage internal and external stakeholders, including business operations and executives as needed Analytical and financial modeling experience, including use of Excel Proactive in setting milestones, work planning, and delivering on commitments Positive can-do attitude
