Job Purpose
 
The Senior Product Analyst at UPMC Enterprises leverages their business and IT expertise to describe functional requirements based on market research, write technical implementation requirements, and create business analytics to measure product success.
Analysts use their keen, pragmatic skills to assess industries, businesses, and products. They are responsible for highlighting gaps and opportunities that support company-building and product roadmap activities from early-stage discovery through entry to market. 
As part of the team, you will work closely with the product and engineering teams and other internal stakeholders to drive key insights based on user and business data.  You’ll work to make sure that we use the right analytics tools, that our product is instrumented appropriately, and that we normalize, store, and manage our data in the ways that allow us to get the most out of it (and that protects our users’ privacy).  You’ll help build and maintain business intelligence dashboards with key metrics as well as support ad hoc analysis, based both on stakeholder requests and your own hypotheses.  You’ll help devise, execute, and interpret product tests and support quantitative consumer research.
 
Responsibilities 
  • Works on large-sized and complex projects with complete autonomy
  • Conducts in-depth market research and analysis
  • Facilitates requirement gathering including user stories for designers and technical requirements for engineers
  • Participates in planning and review meetings
  • Works with users to refine requirements and validate product vision
  • Coordinates with teams during testing to resolve issues
  • Interfaces with stakeholders to ensure product is working as designed
  • Supports testing of products
  • Participates in all phases of the product roadmap including early stage discovery through completion focusing specifically on development
  • Applies market analysis knowledge to better understand user requirements
  • Describes functional requirements based on market research
  • Translates requirements into specifications
  • Writes technical implementation requirements, and create business analytics to measure product success
  • Coordinates with design, product management, and engineering teams to capture requirements
  • Develops KPIs to quantify the ROI, success, and impact of products
  • Tracks metrics and progress related to product adoption and performance
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Performs all above in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors

Qualifications

Educational/Knowledge Requirements 
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • MS or PhD preferred
  • 5+ years professional experience with 4+ years of experience doing analytics for digital consumer products
  • Strong familiarity with analytics services
  • Familiarity with iOS and Android mobile analytics instrumentation
  • Experience conducting A/B testing
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Experience in the health, wellness, psychology, or science space
